Inez Halaska is a senior management consultant, strategic facilitator, course designer, and AI implementation specialist with over 25 years of experience helping complex organizations navigate transformation, build leadership capacity, and modernize operations. She brings deep expertise across a wide range of project types, including construction (as both an owner's representative and subject matter expert), IT implementations, business reorganizations, process development, strategy implementation, and event planning. Across these engagements, she has hands-on procurement experience spanning RFP development, vendor evaluation, and contract management. Her experience spans the full project lifecycle, from strategic planning and project definition through delivery, commissioning, change management, and benefits realization. Inez has worked across government, private, and non-profit sectors and is currently a practicing project manager supporting an Indigenous led community project in Medicine Hat, Alberta.
She brings extensive experience in government and highly regulated environments, including over 15 years with the Canada Energy Regulator (formerly the National Energy Board), where she held progressively senior advisory roles, including Acting Director of Corporate Performance. In her various roles, she has advised C-suite executives on strategy execution, policy interpretation and implementation, organizational design, and investment decision-making, while navigating complex governance structures and public accountability requirements. She led enterprise-wide planning, risk management, and change initiatives impacting 350+ staff, managed projects valued from $50K to $1M, and designed and delivered internal training programs, including a six-month project management cohort and AI-focused sessions for internal communities of practice.
Through her consulting practice, Halaska Consulting, and her faculty role with Procept Associates, Inez designs and delivers leadership development, business analysis, project management, and AI literacy programs for professionals across Canada. She has developed and delivered AI curricula, including Introduction to Generative AI and Prompt Engineering programs at Ontario Tech University, Introduction to AI in Project Management at Buildex Calgary, and leads AI for Small Business and AI literacy workshops. As an AI subject matter expert, she helps organizations identify where AI can add value, build foundational literacy, and integrate responsible AI practices into everyday work.
Inez is a highly regarded facilitator known for interactive, practical, and adaptive delivery across in-person, virtual, and hybrid environments, with experience teaching groups from 2 to 300+ participants. Her credentials include certifications as a Change Management Practitioner (APMG and Prosci), a Professional Facilitator Certification from ICA Associates, and multiple certificates in project management, business analysis, and virtual facilitation. She has also completed executive education at the Harvard Kennedy School. Her AI specialization includes certification as a Certified Professional in Managing AI (PMI-CPMAI), advanced training through the Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute, and ongoing studies with Harvard Data Science Review and the Harvard Data Science Initiative.
