Zaher Hmayed

Zaher is a professional engineer with 28 years of experience in the construction industry. Having started his career in the fields of geotechnical studies and shoring design and the analysis of construction materials and soils, he then held different positions in the fields of design management, supervision, consulting and project management of civil and infrastructure projects including hydraulic projects, water supply and treatment plants, roads and bridges.

Over the last 17 years, he has focused specifically on claims management and litigation support on project matters relating to delay, disruption, change orders and the quantification of damages. He has acted on behalf of a broad range of project parties including contractors, project owners and engineers in the preparation and defense of construction claims, the preparation, analysis and execution of numerous expert reports, as well as conducting project audits and reviews for specific clients. In the context of risk mitigation on construction projects, Zaher has been advising clients for several years in the procurement and execution process of projects, assisting them in strategic orientation, in particular the evaluation of project delivery methods, contractual clauses, audit of schedules and their reliability and compliance with best practices, as well as in terms of changes to contracts. As a consultant, he accompanies clients through the various steps of dispute resolution, from negotiations to litigation.

As a trainer at Procept, Zaher offers training in the preparation, defense and prevention of claims and litigation; risk mitigation; and project management.

He is fluent in English, French and Arabic.
